One of the coolest revelations I had during GRAMMY® weekend in L.A. was how much APNF has been embraced by the soul and hip hop community. It was so inspiring to vibe with musical heroes – from Marsha Ambrosius and Yahzarah to Lalah Hathaway and Eric Roberson - on the popularity and likability of APNF. I also have a refreshed list of artists who’ve asked, “When am I gonna be on APNF?” This is an incredible question I plan to address many times over the next year and beyond.

I’m certain the intense energy of progression I have in my spirit is enough to propel APNF even further in 2011. As I start preliminary work on getting this animated episode off the ground with Todd Kelley, I have depleted the pre-made episodes I had drawn back in the summer. Most of which do not look like the current “APNF” design, which is why I haven’t used them. What this means is that I need to create a buffer of (at least eight) episodes again, so when I’m out of town/tired from work/hitting the gym — the webcomic doesn’t have to suffer. This is especially critical now that APNF is also featured on Neo Soul Café (S/O to DJ France Jaye).

Expect new episodes that are more closely related to current events as well as highlighting the best soul & hip hop entertainers of whom you may or may not have heard. That’s what we do here: celebrate the music in a unique way.

Get ready for the next evolution of comical soul.
