Good Company

I’m new to this whole “webcomic” world as both a creator and loyal reader. I was blessed to have APNF featured in an article on Black Web 2.0 entitled “5 Webcomics Created by African Americans.” by Anjuan Simmons.

I’m honored to have my webcomic stand amongst strips I’ve quickly come to admire and read regularly. APNF has only been around 6 weeks and my prayer is that we all continue down this creative path for a long time.

Sketch 2 Screen: Episode 1 of 4

The webcomic community continues to be a great source of encouragement, constructive criticisms and techniques. The process of creating the webcomic — from pencil sketch to Photoshop-coloring / Illustrator-lettering — is something I strive to perfect with each episode. I’ve read numerous tutorials and watched countless videos on webcomic creation and benchmarked the methods that work best for me.

I’m working on a 4-episode series of time-lapsed videos that capture the creation of APNF episodes — the Sketch 2 Screen series.

The purpose of these videos is to illustrate (no pun intended) the creative process and see what I modify. In the interim, it’s also a cool way to display how the episodes are developed.

Enjoy.
